What is the Oracle NetSuite integration module?

The Oracle NetSuite integration module for OpenMES connects your manufacturing execution system with Oracle NetSuite – the world’s leading cloud ERP platform for growing businesses. The module bridges NetSuite’s work order management and inventory control with OpenMES’s real-time shop floor execution, enabling automated production reporting, inventory postings, and quality data capture without manual data entry.

This is a paid module – pricing depends on NetSuite edition, integration scope, and customization. Contact us for a quote.

Why integrate OpenMES with NetSuite?

NetSuite provides work order management, assembly builds, and inventory control as part of its manufacturing edition. But its shop floor capabilities are limited – there is no native machine connectivity, no real-time OEE tracking, and no inline quality data capture. Operators typically complete work orders manually in the browser, creating delays and data quality issues.

OpenMES captures production events in real time – from PLC signals, barcode scans, and operator inputs – and translates them into NetSuite transactions: assembly builds, inventory adjustments, lot assignments, and quality records. Everything is posted via NetSuite’s APIs, maintaining the audit trail and triggering downstream workflows (costing, revenue recognition, procurement).

How the integration works

The module communicates with NetSuite via SuiteTalk (SOAP web services) and/or NetSuite REST API, using Token-Based Authentication (TBA). SuiteScript-based integration points can be deployed for advanced scenarios (custom record types, workflows). Both NetSuite standard and OneWorld (multi-subsidiary) are supported.

Key data flows

  • Work Orders / Assembly Builds – Released work orders in NetSuite are pulled into OpenMES for shop floor execution. Completed assemblies generate assembly build records in NetSuite with actual quantities, components consumed, and labor.
  • BOMs – Assembly/BOM records from NetSuite are imported into OpenMES and kept synchronized.
  • Inventory – Material consumption and finished goods output generate inventory adjustments and transfers in NetSuite, keeping bin and location stock accurate.
  • Lot / Serial – Lot and serial numbers assigned or consumed during production are recorded in NetSuite for full traceability and recall capability.
  • Quality – Inspection results from OpenMES are stored as custom records in NetSuite, linked to work orders and items for compliance documentation.

Supported versions

The module supports Oracle NetSuite 2024.1+ with the Manufacturing module (Advanced Manufacturing or WIP). SuiteTalk 2024.1+ and REST API are used. NetSuite OneWorld (multi-subsidiary) is fully supported.
