OpenMES is a powerful, free, and open-source Manufacturing Execution System designed to streamline production processes, enhance visibility, and drive operational excellence in modern manufacturing environments.
Real-time extrusion monitoring, spool tracking, and quality control for 3D printing filament manufacturing.
Footwear ManufacturingOrder tracking, material lot management, and production scheduling for precision footwear components.
Medical DevicesFull traceability, serial tracking, and compliance-ready reporting for medical device component manufacturing.
OpenMES is a free, open-source Manufacturing Execution System (MES) designed to optimize and automate production processes in manufacturing companies. It connects the shop floor with business systems like ERP and SCADA — providing real-time production monitoring, data-driven decision-making, and complete traceability across every production line. Whether you operate a single facility or manage multi-site operations, OpenMES helps you eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, improve OEE, and drive continuous operational excellence — all without licensing fees.
Identify production bottlenecks, reduce unplanned downtime, and maximize line throughput. OpenMES delivers real-time OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) monitoring, Pareto loss analysis by shift and SKU, and hour-by-hour rate-vs-target tracking — so your team knows exactly where time and output are lost, and can act before a small issue becomes a costly stop.
Replace manual data entry with automated capture directly from PLCs, barcode and RFID scanners, and IoT sensors on the production floor. OpenMES integrates via OPC UA, Modbus, and MQTT protocols — feeding live machine data into dashboards, work orders, and quality checks so operators focus on production, not paperwork.
Track every lot, serial number, operator, and process parameter from raw material receipt to finished goods shipment. Forward and backward genealogy lets you pull a recall set in seconds — not the three days it takes with paper travelers. Every event is logged in an audit-ready trail for compliance with ISO, FDA, and automotive standards.
Six reasons OpenMES is the right backbone for a modern production floor.
Track production metrics, equipment status, and performance indicators in real-time. Make data-driven decisions with instant visibility into your manufacturing operations.
Free forever with full source code access. No vendor lock-in, no licensing fees. Customize and extend the platform to meet your specific manufacturing requirements.
Comprehensive reporting and analytics tools to identify bottlenecks, optimize processes, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Seamlessly integrate with existing ERP systems, SCADA platforms, and industrial equipment. Built with modern APIs and industry-standard protocols.
